Hi! This is a beautiful pattern. I am following your tutorial for the cardigan and as a beginner I have a confusion. In the round 2, I did 12 single crotchets and slip stitch to close, but does the slip stitch count as Number 13? Because after I finish the centre and count it always counts as 13 stitches. Any guidance would be helpful. Thank you for the lovely tutorial!

What would be the best yarn to use for this? Acrylic or cotton. Or would they both be fine?

Thank you so, so much for sharing. I thought it would be too hard for my skill level, but I loved making this bag - I've done it twice and will do it again! The squares are fun and quick to make, and sewing them together is so satisfying. The graphics, photos, and instructions in your blog are so detailed and clear. The strap was the hardest/most time consuming part - learning that waistcoat stitch! Realized that sizing up my crochet hook on the row before waistcoat stitch made it much easier. I gave one to my sister for her birthday and she loved it so much she started crying. ♥
